Crit Night 1.0

4 hours of sleep last night + driving for 2 hours + 8:30-4pm class + Taste of Vietnam + Crit 1.0 = SLEEPY ME (but I promised myself I'd keep things up-to-date on my blog when there's anything remotely related to this project that comes up)

Wow, this is one of the crits I've gotten most out of. Lots of right and crucial questions. Resources after resources. I want to especially thank Ginger, Tobias, Hamza, and Angie for giving me such great feedback pushing me back to the drawing board again and brainstorm some more.

Even though picking out that bug from the idea I was excited about was hard to take (maybe it should solely be my type project). But, I have to be honest to myself and rethink about the problem. Plus, it's not a bad idea to solely indulge in the type project without worrying about things too much. I need to look at other possibilities for my grad piece.

Here are the things that are problematic right now:
1. Generic encouraging words/phrases can come off insensitive
2. Not personal enough to be the trigger or pivotal switch of attitude

Things I should think about and look at:
1. Jonathan Harris: We Feel Fine Infographics on emotions sourced from blogs
2. Mindless things people do to help divert from stress and depression
3. Pivotal switch of mindset and attitude
4. Revisit my goals and outcomes of this project
5. Encourage interaction
6. Look at what people in the target audience group focus on (23-29)

Ideas bounced off from crits:
1. Carbon copy envelops + photo
2. interactive
3. book=static
4. cards

As tired and a bit bummed out as I feel, I'm still glad that some right questions were brought up that made me rethink about more ideas. Yes! I need that push. And some sleep...
